This project is based on an amazing concept by JT (ArtStation). I modeled the base in Maya and sculpted details in ZBrush, such as the wood carvings and grill marks on the meat. I also made slight adjustments to the props’ shapes to make them feel more organic and closer to the reference. Then I brought the model into Substance Painter to bake the high-poly details onto the low-poly mesh created in Maya.
All textures are fully hand-painted, and the final was rendered in Blender using Eevee. I chose Eevee for its real-time rendering and stylized shading, which better highlight the hand-painted details. The final renders were then taken into After Effects for subtle color adjustments. My goal was to create a painterly look that stays true to the style of the original concept art.
